On a wet pitch at Well Street, both Ardington and AFC Brightwell came out fighting with good passing from both teams. The first goal came five minutes from the half time when a goal mouth scramble saw Michael Moss fumble the ball across the line.
In the second half, Ardington really stepped up their game. Some swift passing from Jaden Wilkins and Scott Webb in mid-field, set up Michael for a great strike giving the goal keeper no chance. It was then AFC Brightwell were on the attack but were unable to beat Jordan Pearce and James Ormond in the Ardington defence.
AFC Brightwell had a couple of good shots but Danny Wilkins in the Ardington goal was yet again on top form keeping a clean sheet. Goal 3 came when a four pass combo ended when Leroy Brandao put a sweet ball straight to Michael's feet who finished nicely for his hat trick. With five minutes to go, Ardington's pressure was still strong. Scott Webb made a dash up the right wing, switched to his left foot and buried the ball into the back of the net.
The game was a lot closer than the score line suggests so thanks to AFC Brightwell for some great football.
