AFC Brightwell Youth kicked off their new season on a sunny morning against Ardigton & Lockinge at The Black Cats Park, Brightwell.
Both teams started well, with early chances at both ends but it was Ardingtons better finishing that lead to the first goals of the game. A Jaden Wilkins brace, Michael Moss's strike and a deflected own goal saw Ardington take a 0-4 halftime lead and many would have believed that the match was wrapped up.
All credit to Brightwell though, as they persisted with their passing game in the 2nd half and were soon back in the fixture, with James Stewart replying with a brace of his own to take the score to 2-4.
Despite making several more chances, Brightwell were unable to convert them into goals and Ardington defended well to take all 3pts.
Congratulations to all players and supporters for a very entertaining morning's football and a special mention to Brightwell's M.o.M. Matthew Webber.
Goal scorers- AFC Brightwell Youth: James Stewart (2) Ardington & Lockinge: Jaden Wilkins (2), Michael Moss, Own Goal.
