Summertown Supergiants scored their first victory in the White League with a hard fought victory over Hinksey.

Ardington bagged their first three points of the season with a 4-0 home win against Berinsfield. The scoreline suggests an easy win, but this certainly wasn’t the case.

In Oxford Mail’s U9 Green League, Summertown Supernovae put together some brilliant passing combinations, which ultimately resulted in a 7–1 victory over a strong Barton United side.

1st Match The 4th game of the season got off to a cracking start with both teams being fairly evenly matched. Sam Cheshire puts on the pressure and almost scores but was prevented by some excellent defending from Tower Hill. Tower Hill up the pressure and have a good run up the pitch towards goal but are beaten back by the Challengers defenders Oliver Butterworth and Jack Stock. Tower Hill take a penalty and the pressure’s on, Archie Brew kicks it out. Jack Blake makes a run for goal and almost scores but Tower Hill’s goalie is having none of it. As the match goes into the second half the score is 0-0. Both teams continue to be evenly matched. Tower Hill keep the pressure on and go for goal but the Challengers goalie, Jacob Muir, executes an excellent save. The Challengers decide enough is enough and Sam Cheshire finally scores the goal he’s been trying for taking the Challengers into the lead 1-0. The Challengers really start to make Tower Hill feel the pressure and after a few more attempts at goal, Jack Cross scores, closely followed by an excellent run from Sam Cheshire and his second goal of the match. With less than 5 minutes left, Sam Cheshire goes on to score a hat trick. The whistle blows and the final score in 4-0 to the Challengers 2nd Match The Challengers started the second match well, putting Tower Hill under pressure with Thomas Smith going for goal but Tower Hill’s defence block him. Tower Hill take a corner but Sam North kicks it out for the Challengers. Lewis Thomas goes in with an outstanding tackle and the Challengers take ownership of the ball. Tower Hill up the pressure and go for goal but the Challengers goalie, Ben Hadley is right there and saves it. As the match goes into the second half, the score is 0-0 with both teams continuing to be evenly matched. Grove once again get off to a strong start with Thomas Smith going for another attempt at goal. Despite some excellent football from both teams, the score continues to be 0-0. Thomas Smith makes another strong run up the pitch towards the goal but is once again beaten back by Tower Hill’s defence. The whistle blows and the score is 0-0.
