After a relatively even start between the two teams St Edmunds took the lead through Matthew Woodley after a powerful run from Mason Curtis. St Edmunds second was the goal of the game when Cameron Patterson took a touch round his man and from the edge of the area sent an unstoppable shot into the topright corner.

St Eds started brightly with some good football and Matthew Woodley going close with a good effort striking the bar. Brightwell started to come into the game more and more as the half progressed bringing out a smart save from the St Eds keeper Hayden Jones. Finally Brightwell took the lead after a spell of pressure saw the ball hit the bar and in the ensuing scramble Toby Arup tucked the ball away.
