Didcot Casuals 7 St Edmunds 3
9:40pm Tuesday 20th September 2011
In an eventful match played under grey skies but in good conditions, Casuals took an early lead after a great cross from the right was struck with venom by Aaron P. Aaron doubled the lead midway
through the half after a great through ball by Harry T left him with a straight leg-race on goal from the halfway line. St Edmunds then enjoyed a period of pressure with some incisive through balls
causing the Didcot defence real problems and they pulled a goal back with ten minutes to go in the first period. The score at half-time was 2-1 but could easily have been different if Luke and Ben
had not combined to clear a St Edmunds effort off the line before Luke went on a mazy run from the back, beating 4 players before losing out. The second half started as the first, Didcot were
awarded a free-kick on the halfway line and Aaron completed his hat-trick 3-1. Liam and Harry H cleared the danger again from St Edmunds before Aaron saw another effort deflected narrowly wide for
a corner that came to nothing. Back came St Edmunds with Dan saving another goal-scoring opportunity. Josh H then won the ball deep in the Didcot half and released Ryan down the right wing again,
his fantastic cross was met at the near post by Harry T who couldn't quite get it on target. Again came Ryan down the wing and this time his cross was met at the back post by Sion, who hammered the
ball home from close range. 4-1.
