There are issues with the new website match reporting as we have not been given what we expected when the planning was being done.
New League Rules were brought in regarding results, goal scorers & match reports but as things currently stand this is what we will expect to receive from Clubs:-
Match Result.
These must be received before 6.00pm on the day of the game.
These can be either e-mailed to paullyon@btinternet.com or sent by text message to 07876 682501
Goal Scorers.
Goal scorers must be submitted to the League using one of the following options before 7.00pm on Monday.
These are meant to be reported via a “website link” but this does not currently exist.
These are the two options that can be used:-
1/ Goal scorers can be added on to the “Match Report” page and will therefore appear on the page for that Division. See next section for details.
2/ Goal scorers can be e-mailed with the “Match Result” as above or separately before the deadline. These will not appear on the website but will be published in the Oxford Mail on Wednesdays.
Match Reports.
Match Reports are optional but need to be submitted before 7.00pm on Monday evening.
These are the two options:-
1/ Match Reports can be e-mailed to paullyon@btinternet.com and they will be added to the website as soon as time permits. They may also be edited at this stage.
2/ Match Reports can be added directly to the Website news page and Division news by the Club using their personal log-in. These will show immediately on the website.
To put the match reports onto the website is the complicated bit!
As it currently stands you have to go into the back end of the website to put your match reports on. Follow these instructions-
Open the website address below:-
www.oxfordmail.co.uk/admin
his is the back end of the website.
You will then see a login asking for username and password. Enter your details.
You will then be in the back end .
Click the “arrow” that points to the right next to “Boys League” and all the age groups will be listed that you have access to.
Click the “right arrow” next to the age group that you want and then click “upload Article” in the Match reports section that you can see.
If you want to add a news item there is a link for that as well.
If you have difficulty with this please call me. We will be showing a demonstration on Monday evening at the Secretary/Managers meeting.
It is very important that you forward these details to your teams or whoever is responsible for submitting these reports.
I need all clubs to confirm they have received this notification as I will be chasing up teams that do not respond. It is very important that everybody understands what is expected of them. We will make allowances for the fact that is a new system and things are not easy!
