Drayton squandered a golden opportunity to top the under 12 D league when a combination of a slow start and several missed chances allowed Ardington to claim the points. Drayton forgot to come out of the changing rooms and found themselves 3-0 down within 15 minutes with goals from Samuel Jackson, Joe Horton and Matthew Druce. The game should have been done and dusted by half time but Drayton clawed their way back in to game with goals from Kyle De Silva and Josh Dennis. With the winds at their backs Drayton took the game to Ardington and quickly equalised with another strike from Josh Dennis. Drayton had their tails up now and really should have gone on and won the game but missed three one on ones and had another shot cleared off the line. Drayton were made to pay for these missed chances when Ardington scored two goals on the break from Findlay Kerr. Well played both teams for an enthralling contest.
