A very bright but cold November morning and Faringdon got off to a flying start with a goal from Dan Jacobs following good work from Benji Procter. Faringdon kept pushing forward with Dan Tischer hitting the crossbar and also having a good shout for a penalty.
Wallingford were never out of the game and they began building up their own spell of pressure on the home team’s goal. The pressure eventually paid off when Wallingford were awarded a penalty, however Pierce Reeves pulled off a superb save to maintain Faringdon’s lead. Although the lead was short lived when Wallingford won themselves a free-kick just outside the box and rifled the ball high into the Faringdon net to level the score at half-time.
The second half started as an even affair until the away team took a chance and scored their second goal of the morning. Wallingford used this goal as inspiration for a much more spirited performance and went onto score two further goals. Wallingford’s goal scorers were Haydn Whitehouse Lloyd, Daniel Sinclair and two from Leon Cliff.
