Drayton Wasps finally got their league programme up and running with a well deserved 3-1 victory at Kennington on Sunday Morning. Drayton took full advantage of the slope first half and squandered several chances before Josh Dennis opened the scoring with a shot from just inside the 18 yard box. Drayton were made to pay for their missed chances when Kennington equalised after the Drayton keeper failed to gather a long range effort allowing the Kennington forward a simple tap in. Undeterred, Drayton continued to create chances, and Kyle De Silva latched on to a through ball, and calmly slotted the ball beyond the Kennington Keeper to make the score 2-1 just before half time. Kennington, with the slope, threatened briefly at the start of the second half, but The Wasps back 3 of Lewis Waddup, Brandon Hewerdine & Nick Webster were outstanding. Drayton deservedly added a third when Josh Dennis weaved his way down the left wing, before crossing to Will Simmons, who smashed the ball home from close range. A fantastic all round team performance, well played boys.
