Crowmarsh started this game with some strong tackling and slick passing taking AYFC by surprise, their reward, a good strike from James Kelly which looped over the head of the home keeper Nial Campbell. Abingdon soon got themselves into the game and a masterclass in finishing from AYFC striker Alex Woodham levelled the score. It was to be young Woodhams day, a further three goals from the front man topped off a fine perfomance and effectively killed off the game, another great strike from Ayfc midfielder James Woodhouse made the final score 5-1.
The second game started well too for the home side but the Crowmarsh defence held strong and tight making the first half goalless. The second half Crowmarsh attacked fiercely, really bringing the game to Abingdon. An eventual goal from Louis Hahies gave Crowmarsh the lead and with some poor defending by Abingdon and some brave attacking, Crowmarsh doubled their lead with a strike from James East. It was a tense and nervy end to the game for AYFC but they managed to hold on, final score 5-3. A great high spirited game by two evenly matched teams. Well done all involved.
