Hanney kicked off against Abingdon who were brave enough to go out with only ten men, and to their credit performed admirably and showed a great team spirit. That said Hanney missed chance after chance and should have been well out of sight by half time but poor finishing and a great performance by the Abingdon keeper meant that they went into the break only 1-0 down after a superb individual goal again by Philip Webster.
The second half was more fruitful for Hanney but again it wasn't a good day for the strikers, Hanney had the luxury of rotating practically the entire squad.
Philip Webster scored two more goals to complete his Hatrick, other goals came from Liam Anderson and Jonny Clinker. Harry Andrew pulled all the strings in midfield with another fantastic performance.
Well done to Abingdon, not once did their heads drop. Hanney will be having lots of shooting practice!
Hanney Goal scorers: Philip Webster 3, Liam Anderson, Jonny Clinker
