A SUPERB hat-trick from Tom Taylor helped Abingdon Youth to a convincing 3-0 victory at local rivals St Edmunds in the Oxford Mail Under 15 Youth League, writes PAUL LYON.

Taylor’s heroics helped Abingdon keep up the pressure at the top of Division C as they closed to within a point of league leaders Cumnor Minors.

Oxford Blackbirds progressed to the semi-finals of the KO Cup with a 4-1 win at Harwell & Hendred.

Kyreece Martei, Michael McDonagh, Tziah Meade and Joshua Cox found the net for Blackbirds.

Tyler Parson grabbed a consolation goal for Harwell.

In Division A, North Leigh went to the top of the table after a late header from Callum Davies earned a 1 - 0 away victory over struggling Purley Jubilee.

North Leigh are three points ahead of Eversley & California, who have five games in hand.

A brace from Joe Horton was enough to give Ardington Eagles a 2-1 win against Summertown Stars.

Paule Marcetta hit the goal for Stars.

Jamie Hudson scored a hat-trick as Horspath Youth won 4-1 at basement boys Ardley United in the Under 14 A League.

Callum Rolfe also netted for Horspath, while Ben West scored for Ardley, who are still without a win this season after 12 games.

Heath Cockburn grabbed a treble and Cian Gaul helped himself to a brace as Oxford Blackbirds thumped mid-table Chalgrove Cavaliers 5-0 in the B League.

Blackbirds are now level on points with third from bottom Goring Robins.

In the battle at the top, Oxford City and Abingdon Youth could not be separated as they drew 1-1.

Morgan Brown and Jack Kent were the goalscorers.

Cholsey Bluebirds maintained their 100 per cent record in the Under 13 Spring A League with a convincing 6-0 win over Cumnor Minors.

Kian Meskini scored twice, while Matt Webber, Lewis Penny, George Beecham and Ben Davis were also on the mark, as Cholsey made it five games unbeaten.

Harwell & Hendred beat Crowmarsh Youth 2-0.

Harry Moreton and Jaheim Clarke scored the goals as Harwell made it two wins in a row.

In the D League, Ewan Gifford and Jack Liu scored as second bottom Summertown Tigers beat Wantage Town Juniors 2-1.
