England scrum-half Ben Youngs has agreed a new two-year contract with Leicester, the club have announced.

The 28-year-old has made over 200 appearances for the Tigers, winning the Aviva Premiership four times, and turned down interest from Bristol to sign new terms at Welford Road.

His form has made him Eddie Jones’ first choice scrum-half and he has amassed 73 caps, appearing on one British and Irish Lions tour.

“Ben is a world-class player and a central part of the squad here and an important player for us going forward,” head coach Matt O’Connor said.

“He has packed a lot of experience at the highest level into his career already and he is still a young man with a lot of rugby left in him.”

Leicester have also announced the signing of Argentina prop Facundo Gigena and the 23-year-old loosehead has already joined up the squad.
