Oxford City Stars had double reason to celebrate after back-to-back ENIHL South Cup victories.

Saturday's 10-1 drubbing of Telford was followed 24 hours later by a 2-0 win at derby rivals Milton Keynes Thunder.

Stars, who were without Dave Carr, Grant Bailey and James Skaife, got off to a great start at Telford when Alan Green blasted home the opener on four minutes.

It was after good work from Darren Elliott and Dean Francis. And they did it while they were a man down while Mark Krater was in the sin-bin.

Telford then had Gareth Bates and Owen Bennett sin-binned and Stars took full advantage, with Elliott and Green combining to set up Sam Broughton (pictured wearing No 10) for their second with seven minutes gone.

Elliott made it 3-0 at the end of the first period after Green and Kent Johnson set him up.

Francis crashed home No 4 into the top corner after Lee Featherstone made a great burst forward out of defence.

A three-goal burst from Oxford on 31 minutes finished Telford off.

Krater fired home a sixth from a Johnson assist, before Nick Oliver and Jacob Smith let in Featherstone for his first and Elliott made it 7-0 with his second from Green's clever pass.

Kevin Parton pulled a goal back for Telford, but Francis doubled his tally with a good assist from Andy Cox and Green.

Oxford lost Nick Oliver with a cut eye when he crashed against the glass following a body check from behind by Graham Oldham who was sent to the sin-bin.

Oliver later had five stitches inserted in the wound at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Thirty seconds later, Elliott completed his treble after good work from Green and Featherstone.

He wrapped up his four-timer with Stars' tenth.

Without the services of Oliver and Patrick Knightley, who injured a leg in the Telford game, Oxford were dealt a massive blow when Will Skaife dislocated a kneecap after crashing feet-first into the boards.

It followed a charge from James Roberts for which the Milton Keynes player was sin-binned for 25 minutes.

Francis went close to opening Oxford's account, but netminder Allen Sutton saved his penalty shot for a trip by Ivan Turan.

Oxford stayed on the attack and were rewarded for their efforts when Elliott fired home following good work from Francis and Nick Eden.

Turan was then sin-binned for roughing against Green, with the latter handed a two-minute penalty for a cross check.

Tempers flared with the referee going over to both benches to talk to the respective coaches.

Stars got a second goal on 49 minutes when Grant Bailey setting up Broughton. Milton Keynes threw everything at Oxford, but Stars held on for a clean sheet.
