OXFORD City Stars’ head coach Kenny Redmond has called for “one last push” ahead of their play-off campaign this weekend.

The English National League 2 champions face Bristol Pitbulls in a double header weekend.

Stars face the south west outfit today (5.15) for the first leg of their play-off quarter-final, before facing them again tomorrow (6.15), with both fixtures at Oxpens.

It comes a week after the the side were crowned Division 2 champions following a 3-1 victory over Sutton Sting in Coventry which saw them secure the double, after winning the South division.

Redmond said: “It’s been a long campaign and there was a lot of tiredness in the camp last weekend after two games back to back.

“We need one more big push from everyone, coaches, players, club staff and our fans, who have been absolutely fantastic all season.

“We’re fortunate both the fixtures this weekend are at Oxpens, so we’re on home ice and don’t have to travel.

“We’re looking to finish on another high, winning breeds success and we are in good form.

“After winning the league, guarding against complacency is important and a key message will be to keep our feet on the ground, remain focused on the next challenge and do ourselves justice.

“The team have been absolutely fantastic this season and we’re looking forward to the play-offs and another opportunity to do well.”

The winners will go through to a play-off weekend in Bracknell next week to compete for promotion to League 1.
