OXFORD City Stars hope fans turn out in force for their top-of-the-table clash against Bracknell Hornets at Oxpens tomorrow (6.15).

The Division 2 South table-toppers face the only team they have lost to this season in the crunch encounter.

Stars went down 9-6 at Bracknell in September – but have since gone on a remarkable unbeaten run which has seen them win 12 in a row.

Head coach Kenny Redmond said: “We had a break following the match before Christmas and it’s crucial we start 2018 as we ended 2017.

“We decided to have an extra training session this week to ensure we are focused and prepared.

“Bracknell are a good side and it will be another big test for us. We will need to be at our best.

“We have been on a great run, but are taking nothing for granted. We have put ourselves in a good position – the key is to keep going.”

He added: “The fans have been great this season and will play a big part on Sunday.

“They can make a difference – if we can get a big crowd in it will lift everybody, so come along and get behind us.”

l STARS fans attending any of the three home games this month will be able to take advantage of a big January sale – with up to 50 per cent off merchandise.

The discount will only be available at the matchday stall and does not apply to online transactions.

Director James Lodge said: “We will be running some fantastic discounts at our home games this month to reward our loyal fans who come and back the boys brilliantly.”

l STARS forward Kamil Kinkor has won December's NIHL Wilkinson Division Player of the Month award.
