OXFORD City Stars captain Darren Elliott will miss today’s away clash at Slough Jets through injury.
Influential Elliott suffered a knee injury during the victory at Peterborough Phantoms and did not feature in last weekend’s wins over Haringey and Guildford.
The player is awaiting the results of a scan to establish how long he will be on the sidelines.
The news is a blow to the English National League South Division 2 table-toppers
“But head coach Kenny Redmond believes he has enough strength in depth to maintain the club’s impressive run of form.
He said: “Darren is a big player and character for us and we are all hoping he returns quickly.
“But we demonstrated at the weekend that we have quality across the squad and a strong team spirit.”
Meanwhile, the Stars directors will take part in a Facebook live forum on Wednesday evening.
Supporters can submit their questions in advance, or live during the forum, via the Stars’ Facebook page.
James Schall, Russell Shrives, James Lodge and Greig Box Turnbull, will answer fans’ questions, with the broadcast starting at 8pm live from Oxpens.
Russell said: “This proved really popular last season and as a club we are committed to fan engagement and being as open as we possibly can.”
