OXFORD City Stars' roster for continues to take shape after a trio from last season committed themselves to the club.

Brothers Josh and Ben Ealey-Newman will return with netminder Tom Annetts for the 2016-17 campaign in National League South Division 1.

Simon Anderson, Stars' head coach, said: “All three of these signings will make us a force next season and the roster is shaping up nicely.”

Annetts was a mid-season recruit from English Premier League outfit Bracknell Bees and quickly became regarded as one of the best netminders in the Stars' division.

He said: "I’m really impressed with quality of some of the players around the league and in our team.

"The guys in the room and Simon made me feel very welcome so it was an easy decision to return to Oxford.”

Ben Ealey-Newman bolsters the squad's attacking options, having scored 20 goals in 35 games last season.

The 19-year-old said: "Since the season ended I have been in the gym getting myself ready for next year –the step up to NIHL1 last year was huge."

Younger brother Josh, 17, played on a two-way contract last season, which allowed him to gain experience with London Racers in the division below.

He said: "I really enjoyed my part-time roll here last season, the team are a great bunch of guys and I'm looking forward to playing full-time with the team and in front of the Stars fans."
