TWO goals in the last ten minutes helped Oxford Hawks beat lowly Bristol Firebrands 3-1 to finish their Investec Conference West campaign in sixth place.

The visitors showed plenty of spirit in the first half and only fine goalkeeping from Hawks’ Jess Hughes kept them at bay.

Lucy Stewart put Hawks ahead just after the break, but Bristol soon equalised.

Hawks broke Bristol’s resistance when Lucy Millington fired home a corner, before a pinpoint pass from Becky Hibbert set up their third for Ella Cusack with virtually the last hit of the game.

Oxford saved their best performance of the season for the last game as they beat London Wayfarers 5-0 to ensure they stay in Division 2 of the South Clubs League.

Four of the goals came in the first half. Kim Haynes scored twice with their others coming from Estelle Strambolie, Annabelle Denly and Catherine Reaney.

Oxford 2nd beat Bicester 4-1 in the Premier Division of the Trysports Three counties League thanks to goals from Ruth Bedford, Lara Wilkinson, Laura Pickervance and Jill Gordon. Bicester scored the only goal of the second half.

JONNY Campbell scored a hat-trick as Oxford's men fought back from 2-0 down to beat OMT 5-3 in Regional 1 of the South League.

Dan Bleach added a brace as Oxford moved up to fourth in the table.

Oxford Hawks lost 3-1 at home to Havant in Premier Division 1, their goal coming from Jack Briggs.

Witney continued their winning run with a 2-1 victory at Oxford 3rd in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1.

Witney took the lead through Andy Gosnell’s strike.

Alex Bull equalised before Tom Dobson touched in the winner.
