Oxford Hawks Ladies continued their high-scoring form with a 4-2 victory away to University of Bristol in Investec Conference West on Saturday.

Hawks, who drew 4-4 the previous week, took the lead after six minutes when Becky Odlin deflected in from Ell Cusack’s cross.

A reverse-stick shot by Heather Francis, after good play from Lucy Millington, soon made it 2-0.

After keeper Jess Hughes had denied the hosts with a fine save, Kathryn Poulter made it 3-0, following a neat deflection from Aby Flory.

Bristol pulled back a goal just before half-time.

Hawks regained their three-goal cushion through Millington in a scrappy second half. Bristol replied moments later, but could not deny Hawks victory.

Oxford were unable to hold on a two-goal lead as they drew 3-3 at Banbury in South Clubs League Division 2.

Two goals by Kim Haynes, following assists from Catherine Reaney and Annabelle Denly, put Oxford in charge.

Banbury stirred themselves and scored either side of half-time to make it 2-2.

With ten minutes to go, Banbury took the lead from a disputed penalty corner.

Oxford upped their game and equalised with a great deflected finish from Reaney.

Bicester lost 1-0 at home to fellow strugglers Wycombe in the Trysports Three Counties League Premier Division.

The hosts were reduced to ten players in the first half when Georgie Newell was sent to the sin-bin, but they held the score to 0-0 at half-time.

Wycombe then scored the only goal of the game early in the second half.
