OXFORD Hawks made it three wins in a row with a 2-0 victory at home to Oxford University in their South League Premier Division 1 derby clash on Saturday.
In a frenetic affair, Hawks took the lead after only five minutes.
Following a mazy run, Sam Chilvers found Dan Rhodes, who expertly fired a reversestick shot high into the net.
As the University side pushed up in the second half, Hawks’ Kit Cutter made use of the space behind their defence to win a short corner, which Jack Biggs buried to complete the scoring.
Witney made a cracking start on their way to a 4-2 victory at home to Bicester in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1.
The hosts took an early 2-0 lead, when Andy Gosnell fired home following a rebounded short corner and Rory Heaslip shot a drag flick into the roof of the net.
Dave Sutcliffe pulled a goal back for Bicester from a short corner.
However further goals from Heaslip and Jacob Deacon put Witney 4-1 up.
Bicester got one goal back before the interval when Ben Kirk rifled in a short corner.
In the second half, smart saves from keeper Craig Simms kept Witney ahead.
