Banbury went down 6-5 away to Brighton in a thrilling South Clubs League Division 2 encounter on Saturday.
Hit by injuries and unavailablity, Banbury had a squad of only 12 players, but were soon a goal up via Tash Nunneley, only to lose Krissy Bull with a broken finger.
This left them with just 11 players, but theye were far from fazed, going in 3-2 up at half-time thanks to goals from Sadie Lapper and Ali Sturla.
Banbury added further goals from Nunneley and Lapper in the second half, but Brighton hit back each time and then struck the winner in the closing stages.
Oxford went down 4-2 to Oxford University at Iffley Road.
The students broke the deadlock after 15 minutes from a deflected strike, but Oxford soon levelled, winning a penalty corner which Caro Harris converted.
Just before half-time, the university broke again after a one-on-one with keeper Phil Swindell, and a third goal early in the second half left Oxford with it all to do.
Catherine Reaney reduced the arrears before the students wrapped it up with a fourth.
Witney were in red-hot form in Division 3A, seeing off Sonning 5-2.
Captain Katie Gatt led the way with two goals from penalty corners and Karen Easterbrook got her name on the scoresheet for the second game running with another brace.
Joy Mangazi was also on the mark, while Charlotte Manning shone on her first-team debut.
Bicester were pipped 2-1 away to South Bucks in their Trysports Premier 2 top-of-the-table clash.
Former England international Lesley Hobley set up the home side’s opener, but Kath Crook levelled early in the second half.
A strike from open play by Hobley with 15 minutes left proved the winner despite Bicester’s best efforts.
Kidlington march in Trysports Division 2 as second-half goals from Sherene Butler (2), Ellie Desmond and Kasey Butler saw off Amersham & Chalfont 3rd 4-0.
Goals from Abi Flory and Rebecca Demczak were not enough for Oxford Hawks as they went down 3-2 to National League side Trojans in a friendly.
