HOCKEY: Oxford pipped in eight-goal feast

Oxford Ladies 2nd went down 5-3 to a strong Staines side on a frosty Headington pitch.

Staines were 3-2 up at half-time, Oxford levelling before two late goals sealed the South Clubs League Division 3A points.

Kim Haynes, Helen Backhouse, Laura Smyth were on the mark for Oxford.

Trysport Three-Counties League Division 2 table-toppers Kidlington triumphed 1-0 at Henley 3rd with a goal from Kerry O’Sullivan.

Kasey Butler had another effort controversially ruled out.
