Sam Chilvers scored twice as Oxford routed struggling Staines 5-0 in their South League Premier Division 1 game at Banbury Road North on Saturday.

Despite dictating the play, Hawks led only 1-0 at half-time, Jack Biggs scoring from a short corner.

Chilvers doubled the lead after the interval, and although Si Robinson received a yellow card for a body-check, Hawks won easily.

After Chilvers added his second, Chris Hardy scored his first goal of the season and Alex Williams netted with a cracking strike.

In Premier Division 2, Oxford Hawks 2nd also won 5-0 at Woking with goals from Dan Andrews (3), Dom Bennett and Oliver Lovibond.

Strikes from Andy Wynd, Matt McKeown and Dan Bleach helped Oxford to see off visitors PHC Chiswick 3-1 in Regional Division 1.

Wynd opened the scoring, deflecting home a Jona Boender reverse hit, before skipper McKeown drilled home a short corner.

Chiswick pulled back a goal in the second half, but Oxford stepped up their game and Bleach’s sealed the points.

Despite taking the lead with a penalty flick from Jacques Tasker, Oxford 2nd lost 3-1 at Maidenhead.

Witney took the lead through a super goal from Rory Heaslip, but still lost 6-1 away to leaders Amersham & Chalfont in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1.

On Sunday, skipper Andy Gosnell was sent off as Witney lost 3-1 to British Airways in the EHA Vase, Fraser Bernard netting their goal.
