WITNEY Ladies stayed top of the South Clubs League Division 3A after a solid 3-0 home win over Milton Keynes.

The hosts went ahead after defender Ellie Norton reacted the quickest to smash home following a goalmouth scramble.

Witney stepped up the pressure in the second half and doubled their lead after Amy Williams and Lucy Reading combined to set up Izzy Hayes who fired in at the far post.

Lucy Reading was rewarded for her persistence when she scored a fine reverse-stick shot to seal a super show.

In the same league, Oxford pulled away from the lower reaches with a 2-1 at home to Banbury, courtesy of goals from Lotje Klaver and Lucy McCann.

Oxford Hawks 2nd eased home 3-1 away to Sonning, thanks to strikes from Kara Kerr, Zoe Lamb and Kate Merrick.

Bicester wewre held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Henley in Premier 1 of the Trysports Three Counties League.

In their last match before Christmas, Bicester took the lead when Gina Girvan fired a superb ball into the attacking D which rebounded in off Henley’s keeper, However, in the second half Bicester’s defence came under pressure.

Despite excellent clearances by Grace Julier and Jo Wells, Bicester conceded the equaliser from a short corner.
