Oxford Hawks moved up to third in Conference West after a 2-1 victory over Isca, from Exeter.

A last-gasp deflection from Clare King denied the visitors an early lead before Hawks went ahead with a fine goal.

Kirsty Chapman released Charlotte Crampton-Smith, who laid the ball off for Kathryn Poulter to drive around the back of the defence and wrong-foot the keeper.

Hawks enjoyed more possession in the second half, extending their lead as Emily Court converted the rebound from a penalty corner.

Five minutes from the end, Isca pulled one back with a well-executed penalty corner routine, and Hawks withstood late pressure to seal the points.

Oxford went down 3-1 at Brighton & Hove in Division 2, Sally Whyte scoring their goal. Witney drew 1-1 at Sonning in Division 3A of the South League.

After missing a golden chance by failing to convert a penalty flick, Witney went ahead when Marie Vincent finished with an impressive reverse stick flick.

Sonning equalised before the break, but were then forced onto the back foot as Witney pressed for the winner.

However, despite creating several chances, they had to settle for the draw.

Bicester triumphed 3-1 at Maidenhead 3rd in Trysports Three Counties Premier 1.

Two own goals gave Bicester the advantage at the break and Lilla Venning made it 3-0 in the second half, before Maidenhead grabbed a consolation.
