OXFORD Hawks crashed 4-0 at home to Old Georgians in a bizarre South League Premier 1 fixture.

The home side had plenty of the ball but missed chances, while Georgians made the most of theirs.

Two short-corner goals gave the visitors the advantage at half-time and they went further ahead after the break.

A series of yellow cards near the close reduced Hawks to seven players, scuppering any hopes of a revival, and they conceded a fourth before the final whistle.

* A minute’s silence was observed before the game in memory of long-time Hawks player and supporter Denis Fogden, who died last week.

Hawks will hope to regroup before this week’s derby against Oxford University, who lost 3-2 at Sutton Valence, with Rupert Allison and Gus Kennedy on target .

Oxford’s goals against Burnt Ash came from Will Phillips, on his first-team debut, Dan Smyth and a brace from Bleach.

Wallingford came from 2-0 down to triumph 4-3 away to Old Merchant Taylors.
