Oxford Hawks ladies stormed to a 4-2 triumph away to Conference East leaders Sevenoaks with a terrific team performance.

A cracking goal from Becky Odlin was cancelled out by the home side, who quickly netted again.

Kirsty Chapman made sure Hawks went in at the break on level terms.

Some outstanding saves from player-of-the-match Jess Hudson kept the home side at bay in the second half, before Hawks went 3-2 up after Emily Court finished off a superb team move. Sevenoaks continued to create chances, but Lucy Stewart made sure of the points with Hawks’ fourth.

Oxford got the better of local rivals Oxford University in South Clubs League Division 2, running out 2-0 victors at Iffley Road.

Catherine Reaney hit the crossbar before Hayley Sawyer netted to give Oxford the advantage at the break.

After weathering some heavy pressure from the students, Oxford grabbed the vital second goal when captain Kim Haynes found Reaney, who finished smartly.

Oxford keeper Phil Swindell made some important saves to keep the home side out, including one from a penalty flick. Oxford 2nd’s fine run in the EHB 2nd XI Trophy ended when they went out on penalty flicks in the quarter-finals after a 3-3 draw against Tulse Hill & Dulwich.

Lyn Cockshott (2) and Lucy McCann scored in normal time, but the London outfit took the shoot-out 4-2. Bicester were outgunned 5-2 away to Oxford Hawks 2nd in Trysports 3-Counties League Division 2.

Ella Weston converted a penalty flick to make it 1-1 after Hawks had gone ahead.

Hawks struck again before the break and added three more in the second half before Lilla Venning notched a consolation for the visitors.

Hawks’ goals came from Claire Werlinger (3), Lucy Millington and Helen Nicholson.

Wychwood went down 3-1 at Reading 3A in Division 4, Becky Lake netting in the first half.
