OXFORD Hawks moved up to fifth in men’s South League Premier Division 1 after winning 3-2 away to lowly London Wayfarers.

James Ward led the way with two goals, with the consistent Dave Cresswell bagging the other.

Unbeaten Oxford University continued their march towards the title with their ninth win in 13 outings as they thumped Eastbourne 6-2 at Iffley Road.

Alex Stobart helped himself to a hat-trick, with the other goals coming from Gus Kennedy, Ollie Lobo and Oliver Sugg.

A goal from Kit Cutter earned Oxford a point from their MBBO Regional Division 1 fixture at home to Old Merchant Taylors. In the same division, leaders Oxford Hawks 2nd were 2-0 winners at home to Wallingford, with Chris Burden and Rich Jenkin on the mark.

Hawks remain top of the table, with Oxford in third and Wallingford sixth.

Bicester drew 1-1 away to British Airways to move up to second in MBB&O Division 1.

Both sides showed some early rustiness before BA took the lead midway through the first half from a well-worked short corner.

Bicester were stung into action, hitting a post before Jon Rodger set up Jonny Reid to rifle a shot low into the corner.

Both sides struggled to create many chances in the second half, with Bicester’s defence of Dan Round, Martyn Southam, Stuart Goodacre and Leo Graves standing firm.
