EDDIE Pepperell, the most exciting prospect in the county, is now officially attached to Frilford Heath Golf Club.

The 21-year-old former amateur international previously represented Drayton Park in Abingdon.

Pepperell was with Frilford as a junior, winning the Gold Medal in 2006 and the Club Championship in 2007.

Alistair Booth, Frilford’s executive director, said: “Last May he turned professional and is now on the road to what we hope will be a glittering professional career.

“When Eddie’s in the UK he has a rigorous regime and the superb practice facilities here and the excellent condition of the courses make it a perfect place for him to develop his game.”

Pepperell, who finished fourth in the European Tour Qualifying School final at Frilford, has three top five finishes already this year.

This week he is playing at the PGA Europro final qualifying school at Frilford to earn his 2012 tour card.

Frilford’s Tom Fleming, Sean Elliot and Adam Wotton are also in the field.
