GOLF: Sara drives into office at Frilford

Sara Alden, who has been a member for 27 years, drove into office as the Frilford Heath’s new ladies captain on Tuesday.

The 17-handicapper drove the ball 130 yards, much to the delight of the many supporters who came out to watch.

Alden, whose husband Roger is also a member, lives in Boars Hill, near Oxford. The couple have four children.

A member of the family that own Aldens butchers in Oxford, she has chosen ROSY, which raises money for respite nursing care in the city, as her charity for the year.
