There was plenty of home success at the North Oxford Pro-Am, with Matthew Kimber leading his team to victory.
North Oxford’s Kimber, who also finished second in the professional’s competition, teamed up with fellow members Steve Millar, John Nicholson and Jack Gale to land the title with a 13-under-par score of 121.
They came one shot ahead of the second North Oxford team of Jake East, Dave Titcombe and Harry Benford, headed by Frilford Heath pro Tom Fleming.
Henley’s Joe Templer clinched the professionals’ prize with a three-under-par round of 64, with Kimber shooting a level-par 67.
North Oxford general manager Bob Harris said: “A blustery wind and occasional heavy showers made the course even trickier than usual for the 25 teams taking part.
“The two leading teams played some outstanding golf.”
