GOLF: In-form Eddie Pepperell is back in the world's top 150

The 26-year-old, from Abingdon, is in the best run of his career, with seven top-ten finishes in eight events on the European Tour.

Pepperell had sunk outside the world’s top 500 as recently as May, but a tie for sixth place at the Turkish Airlines Open saw him climb to 143rd – his highest position since May 2016.

He is also up to 35th in the Tour money list for this season, ahead of the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa, which starts on Thursday.

Pepperell’s clubmates at Frilford Heath are also celebrating after winning the Core Golf UK Oxfordshire Foursomes League KO Cup.

They beat Tadmarton Heath 3-0 in the final, hosted by Oxford City.
