TWO birdies in the last three holes gave Eddie Pepperell a level-par 71 in the first round of the Made in Denmark tournament in Faro today.
Making his first appearance on the PGA European Tour in a month, the Abingdon golfer had two birdies and two pars on each of his nine holes.
The 26-year-old needs a strong finish to the season to ensure he keeps his Tour card.
He was overshadowed by his playing partner, twice Major champion John Daly, who fired a four-under-par round of 67.
The early pace was set by Australian Wade Ormsby, who had a seven-under-par 64.
