ADAM Wootton, the Oxford Golf Centre professional, has topped the Virgin Atlantic Southern PGA order of merit for the first time
The 29-year-old, who played in the 2011 Open Championship, won two of the six qualifying tournaments and now looks forward to the PGA play-offs at Saunton next week.
The top two finishers will qualify for next year’s British Masters.
In addition to his PGA victories, Wooton has won six pro-ams.
“I have had one of my best years,” he said. “I’m playing just as well from tee to green, but I’ve been holing a lot more putts.”
