EDDIE Pepperell faces a battle to make the cut in golf’s Spanish Open after two double bogeys in the final five holes in Valderrama.
The 25-year-old shot a six-over-par 77 to lie in tied 99th place, 11 shots behind leader Alexander Levy.
Pepperell failed to record a birdie, and completed his first nine holes in two over.
However, it was a nightmare finish that ruined his round.
The Frilford Heath member carded a double bogey six at hole five – his 14th – and then another followed on the final hole of his round.
Levy holds a one-shot advantage over Stuart Manley, Andrew Johnston and James Morrison.
