Oxford Ladies Golf Club are celebrating after clinching a double with victories in the county’s silver and bronze leagues.

The feat has not been achieved by any club in Oxfordshire since 1998 and represents a significant strength in depth at all levels of the club.

Gilly Chapman, club captain, said: “This is a wonderful achievement for a club the size of Oxford Ladies.

“Winning the leagues is really the icing on the cake after a fantastic season in which the club reached the last 16 from more than 3,000 clubs nationwide in the Mail on Sunday competition and the final of the Oxfordshire President’s Cup.

“We are fortunate to have not only talented golfers, but also great supporters making our success very much a team effort.”
