GIRLS FOOTBALL: Carterton and City clinch cup glory

CARTERTON and Oxf-ord City celebrated victories in the OFA County Cup finals.

Carterton defeated City 4-1 in the Under 16 competition, with City landing the Under 14 crown with a 7-1 victory over Thame United.

Charley Hamilton (2), Laura Jones and Steph Bent were on target for Carterton, as they added the trophy to their Oxford Mail Girls League crown.

The two teams meet again this weekend in the league’s cup final.

Lauren Page was the hat-trick hero in City’s win over Thame.

Megan Thorpe put City ahead from close range, before Page doubled their lead.

Miriam Pritchard made it 3-0 with her 50th goal of the campaign.

Page made it four just before half-time.

After the break, Page completed her hat-trick from close range.

Although Thame clawed a goal back, Thorpe added her second and Shelley Knight completed the scoring with her 53rd goal of the season to seal victory.
