Garden City celebrate winning the Under 14 A League
GILES SPORTS WITNEY YOUTH LEAGUE
GARDEN City clinched the Under 14 A League title with a 2-1 victory over second-placed Deddington.
George Young went close for Garden City in the first half, while their keeper Dean Sherlock made a great save.
City took the lead after the break with a superbly struck free-kick from Matt Knapton.
Ravin Shamsi made it 2-0 from Scott Willoughby’s through ball, with Caleb Shepherd grabbing a last-minute consolation for Deddington.
Charlie McPherson and Jess Lawrence hammered hat-tricks as Tower Hill kept up their pursuit of the Under 15 A League crown with a 9-1 win against Banbury Town Youth.
McPherson scored the first two, then Lawrence got in on the act and Ashley Garrison bagged a deflected fourth.
After the break, McPherson struck again, Lawrence added a brace and Connor Tinsley and Paul Inch also netted. Abdil Raza replied.
George Richards and Mikey Palmer earned Ardley United a 2-1 victory at home to Yarnton Blues.
Launton Boys ended Tower Hill Stars’s title hopes with a 2-0 Under 13 B League win.
Simon Lee and Max Hine did the damage for Launton, as Yarnton took the crown.
Rhys Crawley (2) and William Staples gave Dedd-ington Town Colts Tigers a 3-2 win over Moreton Rangers in the Under 12 B League.
Dylan Ellis and Wills Dubury replied.
