Kaylem Patterson hit a hat-trick in Oxford City’s 7-1 win over Banbury & District in the ESFA Under 15 Trophy second round at Ardley United.

Josh Smile (2), Luca Headford and AJ George also netted for Oxford, who are now at home to Coventry.

Mid Oxon, last year’s runners-up, bowed out 3-2 after extra time to Swindon at Chipping Norton.

Jack Heap and Paul Inch scored for Mid Oxon as normal time ended 2-2.

But Tom Witham grabbed the winner for Swindon to add to his earlier strike, with Scott Bevan also on target for the victors.

Vale of White Horse will entertain Swindon in the next round.

Meanwhile, Jordan Davies hit a hat-trick as Vale lifted the Oxford Times Cup with a 3-0 win over Mid Oxon at Milton United.

The final of the under 14 competition was held over from last season due to the success of the Oxfordshire side, who reached the ESFA Under 14 Inter County Trophy final.

But the wait was worthwhile for Vale as Davies took centre stage.

He lobbed the keeper to open the scoring midway through the first half, struck again 15 minutes from time, and then completed his hat-trick shortly afterwards.

SCOTT Webb’s first-half double set Vale of White Horse Under 11s on the way to a 3-2 win over Swindon in the Witney Cup first round at Ballards Ash Sports Ground, Royal Wootton Bassett.

Jake Farmer increased Vale’s lead after the break, and although Swindon pulled two goals back, the visitors held on.

OXFORD Spires Academy squeezed past John Mason, Abingdon, 4-3 on penalties in the ESFA Under 18 Schools’ Trophy third round.

Ruben Cruz and Samuel Ribeiro were on target for Oxford Spires as tie finished 2-2 after extra time, with Josh Simmons and Tom Stanley the John Masons scorers.
