OXFORD United suffered at the hands of former player Rosie Lane as they lost a two-goal lead to go down 3-2 at home to London Bees in FA Women’s Super League 2.

The U’s punished Katie Wilkinson’s early missed penalty for Bees when Emily Allen and Taome Oliver fired the hosts two goals ahead inside the first 20 minutes, with both assists coming from midfielder Dan

Carlton.

But the visitors top-scorer Paula Howells dragged her side back into the game midway through the first half.

Then Destiney Toussaint levelled the scores just before the hour.

Lane completed the comeback six minutes from time as Bees leapfrogged United to climb to sixth in the table.

Carlton said: “We created so many chances, but they got three lucky goals.

“We should have put it to bed early doors, and we couldn’t do that, but we’ll come back fighting.”

United visit Durham in their next game tomorrow (12).

Oxford Utd: Lambourne, Franklin-Fraiture, Short, Casley, Yorston, Baker, Carlton, Oliver, Allen, Chivers (Fyfe HT), Hillman (Noble HT). Subs not used: Thomas, Tilbury, Lancaster.
