OXFORDSHIRE bowed out of the FA County Youth Cup after a dramatic conclusion to their quarter-final against Staffordshire at Hednesford.

The visitors lost 3-1 in a penalty shoot-out, despite twice leading in the last five minutes of extra time.

After a goalless first 90 minutes, Oxon took the lead in the second half of extra time thanks to a diving header by Henry Landers, but Staffs equalised on 118 minutes.

Kyreece Martei shot home to dramatically regain the lead for Oxfordshire in the 120th minute.the hosts levelled again to make it 2-2.

Deflated Oxon lost the shoot-out 3-1.

VALE of White Horse Schools Under 14s won 4-2 away to Cheltenham to retain the Vale Cup with a game to spare.

Early on, Vale trailed 1-0 despite some fine saves from Corey Lane, who had replaced the injured Charlie Lawrence in goal.

However, they soon moved into top gear and scored through Kieran Day (2), Josh Hedges and George Cox, before the hosts got a late consolation.
