DOUBTS have been raised over which division Oxford United Women play in next season after the club confirmed they had not applied for a Women's Super League licence.

The first round of applications, which covers the next two seasons, were due to be submitted last month.

United, who have been in the WSL since 2014, have a second chance in March, but want to find out more about the division's future before considering whether to apply.

In a statement, the club said: "We are committed to investing in and developing Oxford United WFC, but we are awaiting further information on the composition and structure of the competition.

"The club will use the next few months to assess the business model of WSL going forward to ensure that we secure the best long term future for Oxford United WFC."
