CHELSEA Cox’s hat-trick gave Barton United a 3-1 win away to Launton in the Oxford Mail Girls League Under 13 League Cup Group B.

Annie Hawkes put the hosts in front after three minutes.

But Cox levelled before the break and added two more as Barton opened up a five-point gap at the top of the group.

Wantage Town secured their place in the knockout rounds of the Under 14 League Cup with a 4-0 home win over Tower Hill Vixens.

Daisey Grover edged Town into the lead and in the second half Laura Jacob pressured the Vixens defence into an own goal for 2-0.

Izzy Ottley and Ellie Mitchell completed the scoring.

Kidlington secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Under 12 League Cup with a 3-0 win over Crowmarsh in Group B, thanks to goals from Jessie Matthews, Holly Baker and Grace Barrett.

They will face Tower Hill Vixens in the knockout stages following their 0-0 draw with Charlbury in Group A.

Anna Hamerow and Charlotte Evans netted a hat-trick each as Summertown Stars Red triumphed 6-1 away to Benson United in a friendly.

The visitors’ victory was all the more impressive given they only had eight players and their regular goalkeeper was ill.

Milly Parchment scored Benson’s consolation.

Oxford City beat Abingdon Youth 7-0, thanks to an Ellie Bradbury treble, Lily Harries (2), Thea Hornblow and Leanne Elias.
