SEVERAL influential players are set to return to Oxford United Women's side for tomorrow's trip to Watford in FA Women's Super League 2.

Manager Les Taylor has made five changes to his side as the U's were trounced 6-1 at home to FA Women's Cup finalists Notts County in the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup on Wednesday evening.

Kayleigh Hines, Katie Stanley, Kat Nutman, Rosie Lane and Holly Pickett were all rested during the week, with Taylor targeting a return to winning ways this weekend.

He said: “They've been ever-presents and we have been fortunate this season with injuries, which is good.

“I thought it was an ideal opportunity – especially after Birmingham, which was a really hard game – for us to rest two or three with Watford in mind.”

While Stanley is expected to be fit after recovering from a knock picked up in last weekend's match at Birmingham City, there remain injury doubts over Madison Lee and Chloe Bruce.

United's hosts tomorrow are currently propping up WSL 2 with just four points from 13 games.

But Taylor, who captained Watford in the 1984 FA Cup final, is taking nothing for granted.

“It won't be a pushover, we know that,” he said.

“We were in that position last season, so we know they'll be fighting for everything.

“We'll give them every respect they deserve, but we'll make sure they know they've been in a game.”
