LOCAL pride is at stake tomorrow (2pm) as Oxford United take on Reading at Abingdon United’s Northcourt Road in FA Women’s Super League 2.
U’s boss Les Taylor is under no illusions how important this fixture is for both sides.
“It’s a big game, because it’s a local derby and there’s pride at stake,” he said.
“Reading need the points more for their promotion push, so I think there’s more pressure on them.”
Former Coventry City striker Destiny Toussaint is a new addition to an otherwise unchanged U’s squad.
Taylor said: “We’ve got no injury doubts and the great thing about this year is that the girls have been so consistent that I’ve not had to worry about changing the team around often.
“The Continental Cup starting has given us a chance to look at some of the girls who hadn’t been in the side and they did really well.
“So the only headache for me is deciding which team to start, which is a nice problem to have.”
TOMORROW’S SQUAD
Oxford Utd: Lambourne, Cox, Chivers, Bruce, Meade, Nichol, Lane, Franklin-Fraiture, Pickett, Nutman, Stanley, Hines, Low, Pinker, Timms, Allison, Toussaint.
