Oxfordshire Under 14s kept alive their hopes of winning the South West Counties competition with a 2-0 victory over Dorset at Shaftesbury Town.

Oxon squandered numerous chances before taking the lead five minutes before half-time when Chris Mortimore drove the ball into the top corner from a Matty Fitzgerald pass.

Dorset came more into the game in the second half with the slope in their favour.

But Moin Dogar and Luke Elliott were outstanding at the heart of the Oxfordshire defence and Jack Earl worked tirelessly in the defensive midfield role.

Mortimore shot narrowly wide and James Stewart drove an effort straight at the Dorset keeper before Oxfordshire made the encounter safe four minutes from time.
