WATFORD skipper Megan Wynne is out for revenge against Oxford United tonight.

Les Taylor’s side came from behind to beat the Hornets in the final month of the 2014 season.

Wynne had put Watford in front before two Oxford goals in as many minutes, from Lauren Allison and Gemma Simmonds, completed a stunning comeback.

It was a disappointing result for the Hornets, who finished the inaugural FA Women’s Super League 2 campaign in seventh place, six points ahead of Oxford.

And after being announced as Watford’s new captain, Wynne is confident her side can push further up the table.

“Although we lost against them last year we felt that was one of the games that we definitely should not have lost,” the midfielder said.

“We’ve been working at our defending and on keeping clean sheets in pre-season.

“It will be a great feeling to lead the girls out as captain in the league for the first time.

“We are definitely looking for a top-four finish, and so it will be important for us to start well.”

Oxford captain Sahara Osborne-Ricketts said: “We know we have got one over on them before and hopefully we can do the same again.”
