Oxfordshire's Kaylem Patterson couldn’t save England Schools’ Under 18s from a 2-1 defeat on his debut against Australia in a friendly at Stafford Town.
The City of Oxford College striker came on for the last 35 minutes, but was unable to find the target.
He said: “It was all right and I didn’t do too bad.”
Patterson, whose goals play- ed a leading role in Oxford City reaching the FA Youth Cup third round this season, will next join up with England for their Centenary Shield opener against Wales at Truro City on February 27.
