OXFORD MAIL YOUTH LEAGUE

PREVIOUSLY unbeaten Wheatley Boys suffered a shock 10-2 defeat by Crowmarsh Youth Tigers at the top of the Under 14 C League, writes PAUL LYON.

Aidan Ollenbuttel hit a hat-trick, Rio Burgoyne, Kye Johnson and Henry Sharples netted two each and Jack Sewell also scored.

Jo Bowley and Harry Cudd netted Wheatley’s consolation efforts.

Goals from Ben MacNally and Henry Nye gave Summertown Comets a 2-0 home win against Marston Saints.

In the B League, Heath Cockburn was the star for Oxford Blackbirds, scoring all four goals as they won 4-0 at Summertown Stars.

Matthew Matley also hit a spectacular four-timer in Milton United’s 7-0 home victory over Grove Challengers in the Under 15 B League.

Jordan Pacey bagged two and Aaron Preece also got his name on the scoresheet.

Joe Winterbourne scored the only goal as Ardington Eagles won 1-0 at Summertown Stars.

Bampton Town Rangers won a tense penalty shoot-out to advance past St Edmunds Royals in the Under 13 Knockout Shield second round, following a 4-4 draw after extra time.

Nathan Walton, Kyle Page, Sam Watson and Sam Hartley scored for Rangers but they were held by goals from Jack Prior, James Donovan, Jo Coucke and Shirven Sido.

It was Rangers who booked their place in the quarter-finals, winning 3-1 on penalties.

A brace from Jack White and further goals from Ben Marshall and Billy Janes gave Didcot Town a 4-0 victory over Garsington in the Under 13 Knockout Cup.

In the same competition, Quarry Rovers TNT continued their good form with a 7-1 home win against Ardington & Lockinge.

Braces from Jodee Drewett, Jake Carter and Godwin Nosakalarfi plus a goal from Diego Montoya did the damage, with Joseph Flanagan scoring Ardington’s consolation.

Quarry Rovers Barca progressed to the quarter-final of the Under 12 Knockout Shield with a 4-0 victory over Botley Boys.

Scott Aspley opened the scoring with a curling free-kick, Alex Stephenson then struck twice from corners and Victor Ngarukiye hit the fourth.

Grove Challengers Black went through to the quarter-final of the Knockout Cup with a 3-2 home victory over Crowmarsh Youth Rooks, the winning goal coming in the final minute of extra time.

Reece Bruce and Alfie Briggs scored for Rooks, but they were beaten thanks to a double from Sam Scheshire and a Jamie Palmer goal.

Ollie Deans hit the winner for St Edmunds as they progressed to the next round with a 1-0 victory at Chalgrove Cavaliers White.

Crowmarsh Youth came through their Under 11 Knockout Cup second round match with a 3-2 penalty shoot-out success over Didcot Casuals.

The two sides were locked together at 1-1 after extra time as Woody Symons’s goal for Crowmarsh was cancelled out by a Freddie Copping effort for Casuals.

Summertown Wanderers also needed penalties to beat Kennington Athletic, winning the shoot-out 4-2 after a goalless draw.

Goals from Seb Gill, Joshua Thacker and Stan Prichard gave Oxford City Nomads a 3-0 victory at Cumnor Minors and a place in the quarter-final.
